Our PALS Provider Renewal course tests and strengthens your high-level skills and knowledge involving core PALS concepts in simulated cardiopulmonary arrest or cardiovascular emergencies to help you in your practice.
In this concentrated course, your proficiency will be evaluated in high-quality CPR, high-performance team dynamics and communication, and the systematic approach to pediatric assessment that includes the evaluate-identify-intervene sequence for respiratory emergencies, shock and cardiopulmonary arrest.

Reflects the most recent science from the Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC and adapted for Canada’s unique health care practice, pharmacology and systems of care.
Incorporates use of feedback devices, proven to improve learning and skills mastery, into the programming during in-person practice and testing.
Reinforces the importance of direct hands-on practice and coaching in acquiring and elevating skills proficiency.
Emphasizes the critical importance of high-quality CPR, including coordinated team dynamics.

Content
High quality BLS
Recognition of common pediatric cardiac ECG rhythms
Effective airway management and intravascular access including the use of an intraosseous device
Knowledge of pediatric cardiopulmonary pharmacology
Practical management of complex cases such as shock, respiratory emergencies and post-cardiac arrest care
High-performance team skills
Knowledge of the science of resuscitation, primary and secondary survey in the systematic approach

2-Year Certification
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (2 credits per hour under Section 2 of the MOC Programs as Traineeships)
